4Wish I'd been able to try them first...Dec 26, 2006
By Sherry H.
The Good:

* I couldn't find these in bricks-and-mortar stores at all, and it was a relief to purchase them affordably through a vendor I trust.

* The 1-lb weight inserts make it easy to adjust the weight, with the cuff on or off.

* I have been using them for about two weeks, and the effect on my workout - and my legs - is tremendous.

The Bad:

* The cuffs are "adjustable" with two LONG velcro straps that wrap all the way around the ankle. No matter how carefully I wrap them, I just can't get them as tight as I'd like. Straps which wrap double back through D-rings would have been much more useful.

* The cuffs tend to ride down and dig into the tops of my feet. Cushioned by gel or not, I can't exactly call that "comfortable." I'm not sure whether this is specific to this brand, or typical of ankle weight cuffs.

Overall:

I do wish I'd been able to try these and some other brands before I purchased them. However, I'm delighted to have found them and with the results I'm seeing.

5Nice ProductFeb 10, 2009

This is a nice product if you have a one leg injury. Be warned, THIS IS NOT A SET. This is an INDIVIDUAL ankle weight targeted for those with a one sided injury.

The metal bars are great because the other adjustable ankle weights with the little bags will eventually leak a coal like filling. These solid metal bars will not give you that problem. If you have the type with the bags and they began to leak, you can replace them with the metal bars from this product.

The double strap is very nice because it keeps the weight on without the straps twisting out of place like the single straps.

This product is worth getting but remember it's not a set.

will tear at the bottom of the weight slots if you plan on being somewhat active when using these. I returned mine within 4 uses.

5Expensive but very goodMay 15, 2007
By Kathryn A. Carroll "Rod Carroll"
I wear these ankle weights on my wrists. I have to staple the tops shut to keep the weights in, but they take a lot of abuse as I'm waving my arms around. These are the only weights I've found to meet this demanding application. I purchased a second pair after wearing out the first by clapping my hands and banging the weights. Without that mishandling they would have lasted much longer than my three+ years of twice weekly wear. They hold very securely.

2poor qualityApr 24, 2010

As a person with a disability, Velcro hand weights are an important part of my workout regimen. I had purchased one of these hand weights in the past, and had been disappointed by its quality and how soon the individual weight pockets began to rip open. However, I did decide to give it another shot, and ordered another one to replace the one that was falling apart. In less than six months, the pockets began to tear again, and other parts of the stitching began to give way. Unless you are going to be very very careful in using this product, which is difficult if you plan to have any kind of vigorous workout, I would not recommend it.
