Exercising on the barrel strengthens abdominal, back, and shoulder muscles to keep the spine flexible. The chest opens, shoulders straighten, and any humpback disappears. An open chest allows for easer, deeper breathing. The Spine Corrector Barrel workout also tones and trims thighs and strengthens the body's core. The barrel is accompanied by a 20-minute workout video featuring Master Pilates Instructor Romana Kryzanowska and Elite Pilates Trainer Marjolein Brugman. Brugman explains and demonstrates each of 14 exercises shown on the video. The barrel measures 27-1/7 inches x 17-1/2 inches x 13-1/2 inches and weighs 18 pounds. Handles on the side that are used for specific exercises can also be used to move the barrel around. | | | Product Details: | | | Product Length:

A bargain of a BarrelMay 01, 2008
By Michael Thorn This is a great step barrel for the price. It's sturdy and comfortably padded. You can pay several times more for one from any of the major pilates apparatus manufacturers. The video (of course it should be a dvd) is quite good with instruction by Romana and some very well-known pilates instructors as the students. Barrel exercises are challenging for the pilates neophyte and the pro.

This is a quality piece of equipment.Jul 10, 2009
By Roslynn A. Farro Rec'd this item in 8 days. I was skeptical because of the reviews, but I really needed a spine corrector. I was amazed at how well this spine corrector is made. Heavy solid wood product. Adequately padded. Two solid handles to perform exercises. A great teaching video included in price-- Well the price was amazing and, additionally, I did not pay shipping. I did not understand the reviews from people who found this product inferior.

Great for the priceOct 23, 2010
By Collin Stoll L.Ac. Decent spine corrector for under $200. Well built and not too much off gassing. padding is a little thin and overall not as nice looking compaired to the Stott corrector. But padding issue can be corrected by using a yoga mat over the barrel. The instructional video is adequate but I would highly recommend taking an individual or small group class from a certified pilates instructor before buying or using it to get the most out of it and prevent injury.

Home useAug 04, 2010
By Assinie I bought this to use at home and do basic pilates exercises. The video was very useful since I am new at this discipline. The barrel is well made and easy to use. I found it very comfortable and not at all slippery.
