The desk can be a little confusing in the instructions but it is easily put together once you get the hang of the sketches.
The main problem is the one I recieved has a lot of knocks and damage on the parts, it may have been done in transit but the outer package was intact so I can only assume it left the factory like this. If it was smaller I may have sent it back but I'm now in the process of doing a "touch-up" job on it myself.
Examine all pieces carefully before you assemble it so you don't have to make the decision to keep it or send it back when it's half built like I did.
Besides that it is a good robust desk and fully fit for it's function.

Received in good condition, easy to assemble - 2 guys took 1.5 hrs. once items sorted, description/set up fully useful/meets expectation.

The color is accurate and the desk is otherwise as advertised. It is surprisingly sturdy for an item made from particle board. I was able to store some fairly heavy books and other items in it without concern. If you are looking for a heavy, executive type desk this would probably not be the product for you. However, if you want a smaller, less expensive desk with lots of storage space, this is a good buy. I checked other stores and found the exact same desk selling for significantly more. It seems to be ideal for students or an older child's room.
The assembly was not difficult, but I'd highly recommend making it a two person job. I put part of it together by myself, and my husband helped with the rest. It went much smoother with one person to hold the pieces in place while the other turned the screws that lock the parts together.
One thing I didn't see mentioned anywhere was the desk has two assembly options. You can assemble it with the shelves on either the right or the left. I felt this was helpful, as it allowed more options for fitting it in different spaces while still being able to access stowed items easily.

It does get 4 stars because it took my fiance 2.5hrs to put together due to how many pieces it was in. However now that it is set-up it is beautiful and meet all my storage needs!! I love the red wood color and the fact that it comes with a touch up pen. I did have one minor scratch on my desk, but it is not even noticeable now that I used the furniture marker. Cd holder, mini-bookcase, pull-out keyboard, cubbies...what more could you ask for?? The price was great too!

This desk comes in tons of pieces for you to put together. After you put it together you cannot move it ANYWHERE!!! I spent hours putting this together in my den and when I finished myself and a friend moved it 5 feet to the wall. The entire desk broke apart. It took well over an hour to fix! Now, to the untrained eye the desk appears in good shape. But, if you look closely at it, all the screws have almost torn themselves off and the desk may fall apart upon next use. I have had the desk put together for 6 hours. I was VERY careful putting it together to make sure I did it properly. I double checked all my work to make sure I didn't miss anything. If you're the type of person that likes to build model airplanes this desk is for you! It looks great when you put it together just don't bother using it!
