After gastric by-pass surgery I lost most of my hair, this product made my hair grow back healthy. My nails are also very strong now.

The ingredients of this Silica Complex include:
Silica (from Horsetail Extract) 40 mg
Zinc (as Zinc Amino Acid Chelate) 5 mg
Manganese(as Manganese Amino Acid Chelate) 2 mg
Horsetail Extract (Equisetum arvense) 500 mg
Oat Straw (Avena sativa) 100 mg
Bentonite Mineral Powder 10 mg
Boron (as Amino Acid Chelate) 1 mg
I take silica as one of multiple supplements to promote bone health, but it has many other benefits as well as that, including the following:
It helps prevent cardiovascular disease by strengthening blood vessels and lowering high blood pressure. It protects lung tissue. It helps decrease swelling (edema) in the body. It helps prevent kidney stones, heal infections in the urinary tract, and it is a natural diuretic. It helps prevent or heal intestinal inflammation and prevent both diarrhea and constipation. It helps heal hemorrhoids, earaches and infections of all types. It helps with osteoarthritis and rheumatism. It also adds luster to damaged hair (improving it from the inside out), and improves the elasticity of aging and sun-damaged skin.
In addition to silica, I also take these other supplements to promote bone health:
--Vitamin D3, which aids in the absorption of calcium (and also boosts the immune system, helping to ward off colds and flu).
--MK-7 (vitamin K2), which research has indicated can increase bone formation as much as 15-20% and decrease bone breakdown by 20-25%. It also helps prevent cardiovascular disease, enhances memory and fights against premature aging.
--Magnesium citrate, which lowers bone breakdown and increases bone growth. Additionally, it helps maintain proper pH balance in the body, promotes bowel regularity, and decreases muscle pain and cramping.
--Boron, which helps the body better utilize the calcium and magnesium you take. This complex has some boron, but not enough to suit some recommendations.
--Calcium citrate, which helps in bone formation. Recent research has indicated that a smaller dosage is needed than used to be recommended. For example, my doctor used to tell me to take 1500 mg./day and now I've been recommended to take 750 mg./day and an equal amount of magnesium rather than a dosage of magnesium that is half the amount of calcium I take.

I have been using this for 5-6 years and it has made a big difference in my brittle, splitting nails. It took a number of months from the time I first started using it before I was sure. I have been using it regularly (three a day for the first 6 months, then two per day since) ever since. My nails still aren't great, but they are manageable now.

I've only recently started taking this..and I've taken it before bedtime. I get a good nights sleep with vivid dreaming, and silica is important for brain function.

I have been taking silica tablets about three weeks and already can tell a big difference. My scalp is hurting less when I press down on my head. I also noticed that I am not losing as much hair as I did before I took the silica tablets.
