The chairs look great, they aren't leather but everybody thinks they are when they see them. Also very happy with the quality of seat, pole/adjustment mechanism and foot. The seat is not padded but remains comfortable, the height adjustment is of good quality and does not seem to want to break or fail anytime soon. The foot is very heavy and gives the stool perfect stability.
I did not expect this quality at this price.
Amazon however needs to reed the writing on the boxes better before shipping. I ordered 3 black stools and got 1 black and 2 brown. I couldn't bother to send them back and make a fuss, but the black is certainly (IMHO) the nicest one.

I had been researching the internet for almost a month trying to find a very good looking bar stool. This one immediately caught my eye. It has great styling and the wenge color (which is close to a color like mahogany) looks very distinguished. A big advantage is that this item was shipped 100% assembled so it was ready to be used straight out of the box. Also there is some padding under the base - a nice touch that should protect floors from scratches. The shiny chrome finish is on the base, the pole that the chair is affixed to, and where the foot rests. Since generally chrome is susceptible to scratching, it would have been better if it wasn't added to the foot rest. I supposed the designer put it there to give it a "bar" look. The base is 15.5" square inches. For such a stylish bar stool it would have been even better if the footprint of the base was designed to be smaller to give it a sleeker finish. Perhaps the designers should consider these suggestions in their next version of this bar stool.
The bar stool was well packed. There was an inner plastic layer to protect scratching, an inner cardboard box, and an outer cardboard box. Of the three chairs I ordered, one had minor scratches (could have come from shipping - I don't know) and another had tiny specks of chrome chipped from the base. This damage was extremely minor and not worth the trouble of going through an exchange. However, though the tiny specks of chipped chrome was not a big deal, I am not happy that the quality control department in the factory where it was made did not replace it before shipment. They placed the inner plastic cover/packaging over the chrome damage probably because they thought that customers would not care about such minor damage.
Despite the minor damage, I would highly recommend this product because the design, look, and overall feel are outstanding. You just can't beat the killer looks of this product! Everyone who has seen it it my apartment keep complimenting me on its great looks and design!

This barstool does offer a unique and contemporary look but it is overpriced in my opinion. You can almost buy five ordinary looking barstools using that money. Although it is very sturdy (due to its heavy weight), there is a red flag in terms of quality. I bought two of them and I noticed that the front end of one chair is not parallel with the front end of the foot rest, instead, there is an angle, it looks like the chair is twisted a bit or did not get twisted enough. While the other barstool is just fine. Since the angle is not adjustable, I believe that is a manufacture defect so I sent it back. To my surprise, the replacement chair had the same problem so I sent it back again. The second replacement barely made it. There is still a small angle but it is not very noticable so I did not bother to send it back again. Based on my experience, this type of defect is not random, rather, it has a very high percentage. You might not care about that, but I do. If I had paid 40$ for a chair with a slight defect, I would not creat so much work for myself. But for a 250$ price tag (S+H included), I desire perfection.

I ordered 3 of these and they came with free shipping from Amazon, which made it the best price available! 2 of 3 worked out great. They are comfortable and they swivel 360 degrees, so kids love them. The third one was defective (crooked and made noise when swiveled). However, Amazon was very good in terms of returns and replacement. Return was easy and there was no charge for return shipping, which can be very high for a heavy item like this. I just got my replacement for the third stool. Everyone who visits us praises these bar stools.

So far the bar stool has been great. It is rather comfortable and sturdy and it looks really chic. I was expecting it to be a little bit higher (yes I know there is an adjustment lever for the height). Otherwise no other complaints.
