 Good lamp at great priceSep 02, 2010

I am a design student in college and I really like the shape of this lamp and it functions very well. I bought it for my desk and like the ambience feature of just having the blue lights on, I use it as a nightlight in my office. The white LEDs are very bright and cover a good sized area although this is a task lamp. The only downsides are that if the light is pointed at you while you work, having 48 LEDs shining in your eye can be distracting, and that the power cord plugs directly into the side of the lamp and it's not at all visually appealing. But I've grown used to it, and to the white color of the light (I prefer warm colored lights for most things). If you're looking for a useful light that is fairly unique, this is a great buy.

Very happy with the purchase. Great price compared to other LED lights and the product looks very distinct. Worth considering if you are tired of the same ol' table lamps with the old-fashioned bulb and removable shades. Has two modes for top and bottom portions.

I like unusual things -- physical ones such as clocks, watches, tools, and lamps that do something differently and in so doing, do it well, if not better than their less-imaginative alternatives.
This is not a perfect desk lamp. In fact, after rearranging my home office, there's actually no place for it at present since I no longer have an open wall or need for either direct or background light. But it's still very cool and will be pressed back into service as soon as the opportunity presents itself. The base illuminates in an attractive blue glow (nothing says "I write science fiction" like being surrounded by an attractive blue glow), and the pure white LEDs cast a bright light without sucking up a huge amount of power.
Build quality is adequate, but far from stellar. It's obviously machined and assembled cleanly, but the three-position switch (Off / base light on / all lights on) is very poor quality and feels as if its plastic rocker mechanism, like a bi-polar wrestler overloaded on years of steroids, could snap at any moment.

this light is really beautiful. everyone comments on it.
however, it is very light weight and constantly falls over and hits me in the head. i have been hit 4 times in a week by it falling over. one time was near my eye and i have a bruise there (i bruise easily).
also, the light is so bright i have to turn it away to use it. the cord is in the wrong place - should have been the middle of back instead of one side or other. cord causes it to turn over if on wrong side.
i would return it but the person who opened it for me threw the box away before i could do anything.
but it is beautiful.

Order processing and delivery were great. The lamp had a defective switch out of the box. It is a rocker switch and one side did not work at all. I contacted the seller, and they were fantastic in issuing me a full refund for the product. Excellent customer support. I am not sure if this defect was a fluke, or an indication of bigger problems at the manufacturing facility (in China). The blue portion of the lamp is cool.
