Not a beginner boardSep 06, 2007
By Mom of C and D I bought this because it had 5 fulcrums which I thought would allow a beginner to start comfortably and work up. Not! Even the easiest fulcrum is too hard for my kids, and everyone else who's been by the house and tried it. Probably great for someone more advanced in balance skills. The price point was great.

Step up to Better Balance!Jul 16, 2010

This is a great product for several types of users. I think the equestrian who is trying to improve their balance will find this product more than helpful. It is challenging but not impossible to use. For me, it has also been useful in helping me regain my strength after a long term recovery from and injury.
It is well built and a great buy. I chose it over pricier alternatives and was not disappointed!

Horrible qualityMay 21, 2011
By Robert W. Georgantas III This balance board is one of the worst made products that I have ever bought. When it came the Velcro tabs that attach the fulcrums to the board were all pealing off of the board and the fulcrum. When I tried to put them back on, they would not stick to the wood. I used the board once and the rubber sheet on the top of the board pealed off. If the thing were made with quality it would be a good board, but it is brand new and falling apart in the box...

Great for developing balance.Oct 31, 2010

I just got this thing and I must say I'm impressed with the challenge it provides in maintaining and developing balance and even strength in the lower leg muscles. For the cost, it provides an entire set from beginner to advanced in terms of difficulty. It is very simply made but of decent quality. My only complaint would be there should be a bit more fit and finish to the edges of the platform, rounding those edges and the 4 corners. I may end up doing myself with a sander and some varnish. Not a big deal but the difference between 4 and 5 stars in this rating. Also it would have been nice if they included a small bag to store the unused fulcrums. I just use a ziplock plastic bag.
I really like the velcro type fastener system of the included fulcrums. Its very low tech, simple and should last a very long time. A good design. Also if you have the choice, you can place the unit on hard floors or various thicknesses of carpet to vary the difficulty. Its just a really cool little gadget and I'm glad I bought it.
Great for kids of all ages as they say. Good for people like myself getting up in years and wanting to maintain my strength and balance of youth as long as I can as I move forward into the wild and wooly world of my senior years. Also I bet it would be good for a rehab device for injuries and such.
Defective ProductOct 19, 2011
By mutex Three of the five fulcrums arrived with the velcro having completely peeled off, leaving a sticky (but ultimately useless) residue behind on the wood. I returned it to Amazon for an exchange that same day (the returns process was surprisingly painless; it helps that a UPS store is near me).
The replacement board arrived the next day, but with exact same problem. I will also return this one, but this time for a refund. Between my two boards and the board that Amazon reviewer "Robert W. Georgantas III" complained about, I suspect that this product is inherently defective, and believe that Amazon should strongly consider discontinuing its sale.
