I bought this blender at Ross for super cheap. Didn't know what to expect of it but I figured I'd try it out. This is the perfect blender for my morning smoothies! I make a smoothie every morning and have not had any trouble with locking blades or burning motors. My smoothies are always made with frozen fruit and ice cubes (and liquids too) and the blender has no problems crushing anything. I could not be happier with my find. My only problem is that I knocked the jar off the counter a few nights ago and it broke. But I am not looking at any other blenders to replace it, only this one will do for me!

I ordered this smoothie maker because the old similar one we purchased at Sam's finally wore out. The engine held up, but the gears between the base and the carafe finally ground down to the point they would not mesh after over two years of pretty constant use. Be sure it is properly seated before turning it on. Like the old one this one has a dispenser which was a required feature in our house. This one is smaller than the old one, but we like it because it fits standing up in the bottom of the freezer drawer. The smoothies are perfect, with no chunks to stop up your straw.
Now for the seller. We ordered from Dealorama and it came in quickly and in good shape, but it was blue not red as in the picture. My wife has all red appliances, so this was disappointing, but not enough to send it back. Dealorama sent me an email asking me for feedback, so I left feedback about this and forgot about it. Dealorama was not going to be satisfied until I was satisfied. They sent an email and offered to send a red one or give me a discount on the blue one. I did not respond because it was not that big of a deal to me. They called me at home today. A very nice young lady and I worked it out that I would keep the blue one and order a red one from her at the discounted quote. This was my idea, not hers. I figured the blue one will eventually wear out and we will have a replacement. She readily agreed. You have to appreciate a seller who takes their business that seriously.

I have been a daily smoothie maker for over 10 years. After going through several expensive blenders in the first year, I bought a $25 Back to Basics smoothie maker. It just died last month, exhausted and brutalized, after years of severe abuse, especially pulverizing big chunks of frozen fruit. After looking at many smoothie makers costing $50-$90 to replace my old workhorse, I chose this Back-to-Basics model. I was almost afraid of its low cost because I need something heavy duty and long lasting, but it looks exactly like my old one so I decided to go with Back to Basics again. After over a month of daily use crushing fruit and blending with yogurt and liquid, this Frosty Blend works great! And I immediately noticed design improvements over my old model. It's easier to clean, but know that EVERY smoothie maker needs to be disassembled after EVERY use and cleaned thoroughly or you will have a nasty, fermented mess when you finally do. I would recommend this product.

We like it in general, but we removed the faucet and put cap on the bottom exit because it's too hard to clean that if you use it. Other than that, it's nice and works very well.
