5Finally, an end to my morning hair battles...Jul 28, 2006
By italian jane doe "italianosposa"
I have the most unruly combination of wavy and straight hair. And, yes, I have that embarrassing crease near the crown of my head, too. I have tried every product under the sun, including flattening irons, water-heated steamers and curling irons, to give it that smooth straight softness you see in the magazines but nothing seemed to ever totally work. Before buying this straightener, I was using a combination of comb-brush-type dryers and thick curling irons to tame my thick head of hair. What a battle!

But, now my suffering is over. What I love about this straightener is that it works almost as a brush, dryer and straightener in one. The other reviewer commented that the pins hurt her head. I consider those pins to be a brush, besides; you almost have to have pins so the steam can penetrate all of the strands of hair. I can handle it and my head of hair is usually full of tangles. What I do is blow dry my hair until it's almost completely dry, brush my hair really well, work the straightener through my hair, and BAM - perfectly straight smooth hair. My only complaint is that I wish I would have discovered this straightener a long time ago...

Update 1/15/08:
After accidentally breaking this one, I couldn't wait to purchase another one. Upon opening my new Conair straightener, I was saddened to find they have remade the original design and have now removed the two sets of straightening pins. Darn! While I still find this straightener great, I don't find it quite as effective without the two rows of pins to really permeate my hair...

5One of the bestSep 09, 2006

I'm a junior in high school and i absolutely love this straightener. I'm italian with semi-straight hair but I don't like it when it kind of flips in at the end. I use this straightener everyday and it just straightens out my hair so it looks pin straight. I had a different model of the Conair straightener but this one definitely works better. My friend also has this straightener and it makes her frizzy hair straight to the max. If you really want a good flat iron, buy this one!

3Not for thick AfrAmer hairDec 20, 2007

My hair is very thick and this straightener could not handle it. It seems like it would be fine ofr other types of hair but if you are black or just have hair that takes a lot of effort to straighten, I would not recommend this straightener.

5baby bottom soft hairNov 11, 2006

omgosh i cannot tell you how much i love this straightener. it makes my hair SO SOFT its like baby bottom soft or when u sand wood for a really really long time. i LOVE it. i use it everymorning.. at night i use the wet setting to dry off my hair and then in the mroning i finish it off with the dry settting. but i also use sunsilk pink bottle 24/7 creme. its an absolute must-have.

to the person who gave it one star.. maybe yours was a defect. im sure everyone else who has rated it so far loved it. did you straighten it section by section? it doesnt work if you do it all at once.

i recommend this straightener! its not that expensive and also makes a great christmas gift. looks nice too.

enjoy!

5GreatOct 18, 2006

I have very curly hair and have purchased several straighteners troughout the years and this is the best one I have found. It will pull at your hair if you do not comb through your hair first or use straightening cream or conditioner. Something like Biosilk or Redken 05 Straight (which I use)works perfectly. The wet hair setting takes longer to work so I usually wait until my hair is dry or blow dry it and then straighten it. I love this product!
